Graduate Legal Administrator Location: Solihull, B93 Salary: Dependant on experience Hours: 35 hour week 9-5 An excellent opportunity for a graduate interested in a career of law, to join a company as a legal Assistant and work towards a solicitors apprenticeship. Key tasks to start with: Answer telephone and redirect calls to the relevant person in a professional manner Prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing, using precedent letters and composing own letters. Administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files. Make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up to date diary for fee earners and meeting room. Attend clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care. Ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients documentation and information. Working towards: Sitting in on client meetings take notes and prepare attendance notes after the meeting Drafting correspondence, legal documents Wills/Lasting Powers of Attorney Working on Probate Files Work towards solicitor qualification using web based apprentice training Knowledge and Experience Required Law or Non law degree Some work experience Knowledge of legal business operations and procedures (an advantage) Skills Required Have excellent organisation and administration skills Have a keen interest in law and business. Be computer literate able to use software systems Work accurately and pay attention to detail Be very discreet, as you will be dealing with confidential information Have a good standard of English, spelling and grammar Have a polite, friendly and professional manner.
