Our client is a rapidly growing advertising technology company, offering programmatic and direct solutions to the world’s leading publishers and advertisers. By contextually aligning news articles and advertising content, they help their clients deliver record levels of engagement. Headquartered in London, with a presence in the US and Asia, they have run campaigns for over 45 of the world’s largest brands including The Financial Times, BBC, Microsoft, Adobe and BT. This is a permanent graduate position, paying £20-25K per annum, based in Southwark, London. The role and responsibilities: Reporting to the Financial controller, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and organised Finance Assistance to join us as a key member of a growing team. We’re a small sized company so this will be quite a varied role where you’ll provide financial administration support, working in the areas of accounts payable, income reconciliation, HR as well as general accounting and payroll. If you love numbers and are keen to learn this role is for you. Main duties: Finance and Accounting: Assisting the Financial Controller in managing, processing and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions Processing and preparing financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc. Performing routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Financial Controller Processing supplier invoices and credit notes, assisting with setting up payments Reconciling account statements on the accounting software Creating new customer / supplier accounts and ensuring supplier and customer lists are up-to-date Creating, sending, and following up on client invoices, proactively ensuring that invoices are paid in accordance with our payment terms Maintaining and processing employee expenses and reporting spend per employee, per cost centre Collecting and entering data for various financial spreadsheets Calculating monthly invoicing amounts for advertising campaigns Reviewing and auditing financial statements and reports, ensuring all calculations and data entries are correct Collecting information for and preparing payroll payments for employees Assisting the Financial Controller in creating financial reports on a regular basis Assisting with statutory and compliance obligations in respect of taxation HR and Payroll: Assisting the Financial Controller with drafting employment agreements Filing employee related documents and maintaining employee records Assisting with the preparation of staff handbooks Reviewing and updating health and safety and fire safety policies and ensuring they are observed Assisting the Financial Controller with overseeing monthly payroll duties and pension contributions Office Management: Maintaining filing structure and ensuring that all important contracts and documents are filed Booking flights and hotels for senior management and sales staff Recording office expenditure and managing the budget Maintaining supplies of stationery and equipment Maintaining the condition of the office and arranging for necessary repairs Arranging regular testing for electrical equipment and safety devices Ensuring that share register is updated The ideal intern’s personality and qualifications; Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field Excellent mathematical skills and superior attention to detail Good problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills Advanced computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets (Excel), formulas and calculation software Solid communication skills, both written and verbal Familiarity with finance and accounting principles and practices A team player, liaising with every department of the business Self-motivated work ethic, eager to work in a rapidly changing early stage company environment Happy to get stuck in and assist with all angles of the business What are the perks of working at this company?
