Summary of the job role

The Insights team is an integral and fast expanding department within Gamesys. As a Graduate Insight Analyst focusing on casino abuse you will monitor, detect and act against those who use a range of different methods to abuse our offers that are intended for genuine members. With an abundance of data at our exposal our analysts strive to provide the business with actionable recommendations through a vast number of analytical tools. We pride ourselves on giving our analysts the freedom to explore new software and analytical techniques to produce the best analysis possible. Our friendly and knowledgeable team is always at hand to provide guidance, brainstorm ideas and help teach new concepts. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the casino industry with an understanding, and potentially a history, of abusing promotions and offers. Experience with analytics tools such as Excel, R and Google Big Query are beneficial but not essential. Key accountabilities: Working in collaboration with all marketing and fraud teams to detect bonus hunters across all propositions. Support marketing teams working on new campaigns to make them as risk free as possible. Ensuring that new registrants are in fact new and have no previous accounts. This will include conducting analysis to link previously unlinked accounts that are used to abuse promotions. Understanding the business, especially games and marketing, to ensure analytical needs are met. Understanding and improving the logic to detect bonus hunters. Pro-actively analysing data from multiple sources to provide actionable insight. Thinking creatively to get ahead of the curve and improve business and product operations. This includes being on top of bonus abuse rings such as Odds Monkey and Profit Accumulator. Provide support to our customer service team to resolve any bonus or payment issues. Detect any potential money laundering and report suspicions and reasoning to our AML team. Keeping up to date with market trends and competitor innovations. To keep open and continue communications with your manager and your team with regard to workload and projects. Communicating findings confidently and coherently to drive change. Regularly keeping an eye on Gamesys’ core KPIs. Live by the Gamesys DNA (you can find these on our website). The person: As a graduate in an analytical discipline we expect you to be a logical yet creative thinker with good communication skills to help you excel in this role. An interest in casino games is ideal for this role. You will be self-motivated with the desire to find and solve real business problems and confident in delivering your findings to multiple stakeholders across business departments. Minimum competencies and experience required: Excellent analytical and numerical capabilities. Knowledge of bonus abuse rings (preferred but can be learnt). Ability to turn complex concepts into actionable recommendations. Ability to learn in a fast-changing work environment. Adaptable and flexible with an ability to multi task. Scope: This role reports into one of Gamesys’ Insight managers based in the London office. The key stakeholders for this role will be the Marketing and promotions teams as well as our fraud and risk teams. The role will include staying on top of the methods individuals use to increase the likelihood of profit, or even guarantee it, when gambling and working with all marketing teams to ensure that their campaigns are built with the potential for abuse in mind. Another major aspect will include working with our teams in Gibraltar to take the appropriate action against accounts you identify as abusers. Key performance indicators: Examples Include: Working with a wide range of teams to make sure all teams have the analysis they need to optimise their products and campaigns. Improving current process and detection methods with new, innovative thinking to incorporate data into all decisions. Optimising profit and market share through having effective abuser identification and prevention methods in place.
