The Team We require legal support to provide legal research and legal admin to partners in our highly regarded personal injury and medical negligence team. Based across London and Manchester, our personal injury and medical negligence team work for claimants throughout the UK and also act on behalf of claimants living abroad. They are highly regarded for their depth of knowledge and breadth of experience. The department consists of eight partners, three associates and three solicitors. This role works in one of the most successful PIMN team's in the country. Responsibilities Supporting a partner and his team during a transition to a paper light working style This role will require great attention to detail and high volumes of reorganising files and efiling Accuracy and precision is key in this role Work collaboratively with other secretarial support to provide a responsive and professional secretarial support service to fee earners and clients. Proven document or case management skills would be desirable (Fieldfisher use iManage). Previous experience of handling or producing legal documents would be desirable. Experience of handling bundles is desirable, knowledge and understanding of them is essential Sound technical skills in the following areas: Microsoft Office IT skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook (Fieldfisher uses Microsoft 2010). Must possess excellent admin, organisation and prioritisation skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and build good relationships with clients and staff within the firm. Key Skills & Experience We are looking to attract a law/LPC graduate to provide temporary administrative support to one of our key partners in our highly regarded personal injury and medical negligence team. This role requires someone with legal knowledge gained through work or academics to support on a data cleansing efiling project to support a partner and his team during a transition to a paper light working style. The role requires someone with a passion for law, and the desire to build their legal knowledge through reviewing paper based documentation, identifying the documents and accurately loading and filing into an electronic case management system. We are keen to speak with graduates who have the ability to pre-empt and demonstrate initiative in ensuring the workload is managed efficiently, maintaining effective communication with the Partner at all times. The successful candidate should be able to work autonomously and aim to resolve problems, identify solutions and be motivated with minimum of supervision and direction.
