The Training Department's Mission
The Department works closely with the strategic 2G initiative of the organisation–'Growth' of our organisation through the 'Growth' of our people. The Training Department seeks to reduce the average age profile of the workforce through training new starters to the industry. This allows sustainability and Growth of our employees and organisation alike with the view of prevailing Doosan as a preferred employer.
Career Opportunities & Training:
We offer Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships in crafts such as Pipe Fitting, Steel Erecting, Welding as well as Project Controls. These are all typically over a 3 year period involving a first year off-the-job training programme followed by two years working with experienced mentors. After the programme you become a qualified employee with three years of service and plenty of options for career progression.
Although our Training facilities are based in Tipton, West Midlands, throughout your apprenticeship you will be expected to travel to college in the first year and our operational sites across the UK in years two and three. This will inevitably involve significant periods away from home. In such circumstances travel and accommodation will either be arranged or payments made based on nationally agreed rates.
You become a Doosan Babcock employee right from the start of the apprentice training programme.
You learn a trade that is highly in demand in the Engineering & Construction sector where the average pay is well in excess of the national average.
You learn transferable skills along with the prestigiously industry recognized "Doosan" apprentice kudos.
You begin to forge a long term career with an organization that is true to its ethos: "growing the business through the growth of our people".
