Our people and our clients are what make us a great law firm. They are the foundations on which our business is built.
It is the commitment and dedication of our people that enables us to provide exceptional legal services to our clients. It is a combination we are proud of and which drives our development as a significant force in the UK legal sector, something you can be part of...
Who we are
Foot Anstey is one of the UK's top 100 law firms, with over 45 partners and 500 staff. Our advice is personal, practical and cost effective - exactly what our clients expect. The business may have changed considerably over our 100 year history, but we are proud of our South West roots and we support our local communities and economies whenever we can.
Careers with us
Like our people, we stand out from the crowd. We look for excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally. We would also like you to have a genuine interest in the future plans and direction of Foot Anstey.
There are numerous entry points to our firm, including our Legal Academy apprenticeships, placements and straight from college.
We like to recruit the best, so it goes without saying that all of our trainees have an exceptional academic background with a 2:1 degree or above. On top of this, we will do everything we can to support your studies. We take into account your potential areas of law interest as well as your previous work experience, both legal and non-legal, and positions of responsibility, to ensure we get the full picture of you and your capabilities.
As one of our trainees, you will undertake six seats of four months across two years. Regular, open communication with your supervisors comes as standard. You will get lots of exposure to different situations and to people within the firm who will help you to develop your legal and commercial expertise, in an environment that is friendly and supportive.

Part of the team
We ask all our Trainees to play a key role in our charitable activities - and you're actively encouraged to get involved in the firm's social calendar. As part of that you will also have a twice-yearly lunch with the Managing Partner.
