Dundee is the fourth largest city in Scotland and lies on the Firth of Tay. Originally a seaport, the city today is full of history and cultural heritage. Transport links
Dundee Airport provides a direct flight to London Stansted Airport, from which it is only 45 minutes to the centre of London by train. The nearest major airport to Dundee is Edinburgh, a journey of 63 miles.

The city contains a detailed bus network, providing services in and around the city.

The city has two railway stations, Dundee station and the smaller Broughty Ferry Station. From Dundee the services are Abellio ScotRail, CrossCountry, Caledonian Sleeper, London North Eastern Rail, all providing national links.

Dundee City Council encourages cycling as an alternative to driving. There are many of road cycle routes available in their detailed Cycle Map.

Being a student city, Dundee has a wide range of nightlife from bars to clubs to restaurants. The city also boasts a number of live music bars with everything from folk music to DJs. The Dundee Repertory Theatre is also a fun night out, both producing its own performances, and hosting touring productions from Scotland and the rest of the UK.

The anticipated opening of the Victoria and Albert Museum in Dundee will take place on the 18th September 2018 and is sure to bring more visitors to the city than ever before. This stands near the Old Harbour, which contains the HM Frigate Unicorn and Discovery Point, perfect for exploring. If you fancy a walk as well as beautiful views of the city, the Dundee Law Park provides the perfect escape from city life.

Dundee is well-known as a cosmopolitan city and an educational and employment centre. Dundee is also a retail centre, as well as a hub for biomedical companies. The Service sector has also grown hugely in recent years with an increase of 100 full time jobs between 2009 and 2015.
