        To travel around Gloucestershire itself your best bet is going to be by car as public transport isn't fantastic. Within the city of Gloucester things are more optimistic. The journey from Gloucester train station to London Paddington takes just two hours but direct trains only run a few times a day, Otherwise you'll have to change at Birmingham New Street and make your way to the capital from there. Gloucester to Birmingham New Street takes roughly one hour and there are three trains an hour.

Cheltenham also has no shortage of night bar and clubs, but given clientele at the nearby races it is the more pricey of the two options.

        There is a plethora of religious architectural gems to see in the county, including Gloucester Cathedral, Tewkesbury Abbey and the church of Cirencester. There are also plenty of other castles and manor houses so you'll never be short of a ‘grammable' building. Gloucester also contains much of the Cotswolds, boasting miles of breathtaking scenery. And of course you can't mentions things to do in Gloucestershire without a nod to the Cheltenham race course.
