Helping you find a career in Herefordshire

Bordering the Welsh counties of Monmouthshire and Powys, Herefordshire sits at the edge of the West Midlands in England. The county has small market towns, the cathedral city of Hereford and idyllic countryside; for anyone looking for a quiet, rural life - Herefordshire’s ideal.

Transport links & getting around
Hereford train station offers major transport links in the county, with trains running to cities in England and Wales such as Cardiff, Manchester and Birmingham. Ledbury, a market town in the county, also has a train station on its outskirts which has regular trains to Hereford and Birmingham.

Buses connect Hereford with the county’s towns, also going to destinations outside of Herefordshire such as Cardiff and Gloucester.
Cost of living here
Properties in Herefordshire cost an average of £702 pcm to rent. Hereford has an average cost of properties to rent is £692 pcm, with the majority of properties falling within the £500-£1,000 pcm category.
Nightlife
Hereford, although having a relatively small city centre, is the main destination for nightlife in Herefordshire.

Offering beer, cocktails and wood-fired pizzas, Shack Revolution is (unsurprisingly) a popular choice in Hereford

For clubs, Play in Hereford is also popular; with one room aimed at people aged 18-24, and another aimed at people aged 25+, it tries to cater for everyone.

But, although Hereford has the most nightlife options in the county, the surrounding towns also have plenty of cosy country pubs to choose from.
Notable Attractions
One of Herefordshire’s biggest selling points is its countryside walks - especially the Malvern Hills which offer spectacular views over the surrounding areas.

There are many historical sites to explore, such as a ruinous, medieval castle in Goodrich which is a village in Herefordshire. Or for a castle from the 11th century, Croft Castle in Yarpole (owned by the National Trust) is also worth a visit.
