England’s capital city and a beacon for tourism all over the world, London is one of the most exciting cities to live in after you graduate. The city offers everything from tourism, culture, history, food and drink to theatre and music venues attracting famous artists from around the world.


Transport links
The City of London has a central airport, London City Airport, which is easily accessible by the DLR (Docklands Light Railway). The airport offers international links right on your doorstep.

There are also the London Gatwick and London Heathrow Airports which are larger than the former. Both are also easily accessible by train or by car. London Heathrow is the second busiest airport in the world.

The London Underground operates throughout London and stretches out to parts of Hertfordshire, Essex and Buckinghamshire. This mode of transport offers services every few minutes from each platform and is made up of 11 lines, with the new opening of night services on some lines on Friday and Saturday nights.

London Bus routes offer links all around the city with the iconic red bus. Night services are offered on some lines.

The DLR (Docklands Light Railway) is an overground metro system in the East of London and offers links around this part of the city, including to London City Airport.

There are various Train links out of the city, including the Eurostar from St. Pancras station. From Kings Cross there are links to the whole of the country, including Scotland.

Cycling is actively encouraged in the city. The famous Boris Bikes were introduced to the city by the old mayor in 2010 and since then cycle routes around the city have become abundant, making it easier than ever to travel by bike.

The average rent for a one bedroom house in the city is £1,931 per calendar month (pcm).

The average rent for one room is £749 pcm, for a flat £2,886 pcm, and for a house £4,726 pcm.
Nightlife
The City of London offers everything from bars and clubs to music venues and theatres. The KOKO is a popular club, hosting events all year round. The O2 is a famous stadium, hosting artists from all around the world. Famous theatres include The Old Vic, The Apollo, Sadler’s Wells. They offer everything from musicals to ballet to opera. With such a wide range on offer you will never get bored of all the entertainment in the city.
Notable Attractions
London is home to numerous historical attractions such as St Paul’s, The Tower of London, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, as well as many others. For a more interactive experience, why not try Madame Tussaud’s or the London Dungeons? The city is also home to many famous football clubs including Arsenal, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Crystal Palace and many more. The city offers excellent shopping from upmarket Chelsea, to high street stores to the markets in Camden. As well as excellent food and drink from around the world, this city really does have something for everyone.
The economy in City of London
London is best known as the capital city of England and the most populous city in the UK. The city leads the world as one of the best in the arts, transportation, tourism, research, media and entertainment. Its largest industry is finance with its business based in the City of London and Canary Wharf.

The city is also pioneering in health, education, fashion and commerce.
