Helping you find a career in North Yorkshire

With its cobbled streets, rugged coastline and rustic moors, North Yorkshire ranks among the UK’s most beautiful counties. It also has a rich history and much of the architecture of its towns and villages make it feel as if one is stepping back in time. With York’s historic cathedral and the various castles dotted through the county, there is plenty to learn and see in this stunning county.

Transport links & getting around
Trains go from York regularly to various other parts of the UK. The major towns are all connected by trains and buses too. However, some of the smaller towns and the villages are not, so if you are expecting to travel to those areas, you’ll likely need a car.
Cost of living here
A one-bedroom property in North Yorkshire will cost around £536 per calendar month. A two-bedroom property will cost around £699 pcm.
Nightlife
York offers the largest variety of pubs and nightclubs, but you can find plenty of pubs all around the county. Beyond York, the larger venues tend to be found in towns such as Harrogate and Whitby.
Notable Attractions
York’s gothic cathedral is one of the city’s most popular tourist destinations and it is indeed a sight to behold. You should check out the gory and ghoulish York Dungeons as well as JORVIK Viking Centre for a crash course in York’s exciting and complicated history.

You can also check out the monastic ruins of Fountains Abbey or the gorgeous Castle Howards, both nestled in the countryside of the county.

If you’re more into exercise, the North York Moors provides pine forests, waterfalls and quaint villages to hike through.
