Helping you find a career in Perth

Perth is a delight for its beautiful architecture which reflects idyllically on the River Tay. It is host to a number of exciting events such as the Taste of Perthshire Food Festival which is new to Perth, coming to the city centre for the first time this September.

Transport links
With hourly trains to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen (via Dundee), Perth is well connected to major Scottish cities.

A megabus service also runs from London to Perth - but note, it takes 10 hours and 25 minutes.

Local bus routes make travel around the city easy, but you can also enjoy lovely walks in and around the city.
Renting Prices
In April 2018, the rent for Perth and Kinross Council tenants went up by 2.2%, going up to an average of £67.45 per week. It’s the eight lowest rent in Scotland.
Nightlife
Known for its whiskey, Perth offers a range of clubs, traditional pubs and high-end bars. A particularly popular venue in the city is the Old Ship Inn, a historic, cosy pub which is thought to date back to 1665, if not earlier.

Loft NightClub, for a bigger night out, is open five nights a week, with a resident DJ who plays top hits and requests.
Notable Attractions
To see a wonderful range of artworks and artefacts, from painted portraits to a fragment of the Strathmore Meteorite, head to Perth Museum and Art Gallery.
Or, near the city is Scone Palace, an historic stately home which has impressive architecture, incredible grounds and striking interiors.
The economy in Perth
Major areas of employment in Perth are tourism and events, insurance, energy and whisky.
