Transport links & getting around

Virgin Trains run a direct service between Shrewsbury and London Euston, taking just two and a half hours. The Cambrian Line links the county town with mid-Wales. There are also the Chester, Wrexham and Shrewsbury Line allowing you to travel between Chirk, Gobowen and Shrewsbury.

Travelling by car is also fairly easy, as the A5 and M54 run between Wolverhampton to Telford. The A49 acts as the main road through south Shropshire, running between Shrewsbury and Herefordshire.

Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester airports are all within an hour drive meaning that flying is also an easy option.
