Helping you find a career in Cardiff

Sitting on the south coast of Wales, Cardiff is the smallest capital city in Europe with a population of around 350,000. Bursting with opportunities and experiences, but with a relatively compact city centre, Cardiff offers endless things to do.

Particularly in summer, the Mermaid Quay is hugely popular among tourists and locals, filled with eating and drinking places by the waterside.

Transport links
Cardiff has reliable and regular public transport, with free bus passes being available for all disabled people and senior citizens. Hackney cabs (black and white or in the style of London cabs) can be hailed from the roadside, but private hire taxis must be booked in advance. Trains from the city go to several English cities such as London, Bristol and Manchester, as well as numerous destinations across Wales. Cardiff Airport connects the city to national and international destinations, resulting in the city having exceptional transport links.
Renting Prices
The average rent of properties in Cardiff is £1,043 pcm (per calendar month). The majority of properties available to rent in the city are flats, averaging at £817 pcm, and houses average at £1,441 pcm. Rooms cost on average £765 pcm.
Nightlife
When looking for the best nightlife in Wales, the capital city has a range of bars, clubs, pubs and restaurants that it would be hard (if not impossible) to beat elsewhere in the country.
Offering a unique cocktail experience, hosted by highly-knowledgeable mixologist, Lab 22 pushes the boundaries of drink making.

The city has numerous clubs - a leading one of which is Glam Cardiff. Including a bar, club room and even a roof terrace, Glam is an exciting, unique and high-energy venue.
Notable Attractions
In a visually-striking, copper-clad building, Wales Millennium Centre is an arts centre in Cardiff Bay that has become a major attraction in the city in recent years. And, to see the city’s major collection of art and natural history, the National Museum Cardiff (with free entry) is definitely worth a visit.

Additionally, from the Cardiff Bay Wetlands Reserve to the Mermaid Quay, one of Cardiff’s biggest selling points is the range of water-related activities to try there.
The economy in Cardiff
Cardiff has a thriving media industry, home to major TV and film companies such as BBC and ITV Wales. The city has strong technology and finance industries, and tourism also plays a significant role in the local economy.
