Wakefield is a city situated in West Yorkshire, next to the Pennines. Wakefield Cathedral is famous for having the largest spire in Yorkshire and an abundance of historical architecture. A student city, buzzing with great shopping and sights, this is an ideal place for a graduate to settle.


Transport links
There are two stations in the city, Wakefield Westgate and Wakefield Kirkgate. From the first runs CrossCountry, East Midlands Trains, Northern, and the London North Eastern Railway. From the latter runs the services Grand Central and Northern. As a result, both stations provide links to all over the country.

The Wakefield Free City Bus provides locals and visitors with a free service between key points in the city centre. There is also a service surrounding the city, providing national links.

The closest airport to Wakefield is Leeds Bradford, just 19 miles away. The journey is just 40 minutes by car, or alternatively 1 hour by train and then bus.
