Wiltshire is in the South West of England and is made up of just two districts, Wiltshire itself and the much smaller Swindon in the north west. The county is mostly rural, containing much of the stunning Cotswolds and New Forest. The main city in Wiltshire is Salisbury, however due to industry and a concentration of military operations, there are a lot of employment opportunities in Swindon.

To get into London from Wiltshire you'll have to travel via Chippenham or Swindon depending where you are in the county. From Swindon the trains only take an hour and run roughly every fifteen minutes, however bus transport to Chippenham or Swindon can take some time and isn't particularly reliable.

In the city you will find a variety of pubs and bars, and the iconic Chapel Nightclub, which is not to be missed. Swindon, the largest town in the county, also has a fair variety of bars and clubs to enjoy.

Notable Attractions

Perhaps the most famous attraction in Wiltshire is Stonehenge, but there are other ancient landmarks to visit too such as the Avebury stone circles. Longleat and Stourhead both boast splendid mansions and formal gardens whose estates are open to the public; for yet more beauty visit the medieval Salisbury Cathedral. Other notable attractions included Longleat Safari Park, The Salisbury Museum and Longleat Hedge Maze.
