Mencap is the leading voice of learning disability. Everything we do is about valuing and supporting people with a learning disability, and their families and carers.
We are Royal Mencap Society, established in 1946.
We have over 12,000 Donors, 191 local groups and 10,000 members. We support 10,000 people a day through services, 17,000 a year through the helpline and 3000 people a year through our projects. We are trusted by government because of our campaigning work, like Death by Indifference and our work around the Winterbourne View scandal.
We work in partnership with people with a learning disability, and all our services support people to live life as they choose

Your career with Mencap starts when you join as a Support Worker in Direct Services where you will get full training. Then you will be work shadowing on the job alongside another Support Worker in your team. You will have your own goal setting and report to a Service Manager.
Your career in Direct Services may progress from Support Worker to Service Manager and from there to Area Manager and Regional Operations Manager perhaps! Maybe your career with Mencap might take another avenue into one of our other teams including Business Support Centre, Fundraising and Development HR, Golden Lane Housing or HQ in London.
