For those leaving university with a real interest in investment management, our graduate programmes offer a solid start to your career. Focused on building the skills, relationships and experience vital to a successful working life, they are a firm foundation and a first step on the career ladder.

Our graduate programme is designed to give you the expertise, experience and exposure required to build a long-term career in investment management.

Training begins with an in-depth introduction to the industry and an inside view of how we work at Schroders. During this initial period you'll take your first steps to qualification with the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). And you'll start to build your personal network with other trainees and some of our firm's most senior managers.

Progress is on merit at Schroders. But you can be sure of our support and certain you are working in a culture that encourages trust, achievement and balance.

Once the introductory training is completed, graduates join their first team. Expect to be at the heart of the team from day one and immersed in real work from the get-go. As well as practical experience, trainees enjoy continual expert training designed to help grow the skills and expertise for a successful career. And all members of the programme are guided and supported to study for professional qualifications.

Who we're looking for:

Everyone applying to the graduate programmes will need a demonstrably strong academic background. We're open to whatever degree subject you've chosen to study, but we expect a 2:1 or above. However, we're just as interested in your personal qualities, intellectual curiosity and appetite for challenge. Your ability to stay open-minded and adapt to opportunities is as important to us as the rigour of your research and your ability to draw conclusions and make decisions based on it.

Internships & Placements:

Created for current university students who think a career in investment management might be for them. Our eight-week summer internship offers insight into how the business works, along with hands-on practical experience. And our one-year Technology industrial placement programme provides a practical insight into the vital and exciting role of technology in managing assets.

Who we're looking for:

All applicants must be ambitious, resilient and energetic. You'll need to show us you're a self-starter with ambition and a willingness to get involved.

Your academic record is one of the ways we'll assess you. We're open to whatever subject you're studying, but you'll need to be in your penultimate year at university and predicted to gain a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent, or a final year student planning to study for a Masters after the internship.

Spring Insight Week:

From April 9th-13th 2018, we will open our doors to first year students eager to explore career opportunities in the asset management industry. Our Spring Insight Week is your chance to put the focus on your career and discover our business and the career paths we offer.

Whether you already have an ambition to work in the asset management industry, or are unclear where you want to take your career, this is a valuable opportunity to help understand our industry and the careers we offer.

Our Spring Insight Week will offer you an introduction to the asset management industry, opportunities to network with people in the business, talks, panel events and some work shadowing.

In order to be eligible to apply for our Spring Insight Week, you will be in your first year of your undergraduate studies (or 2nd year of a 4 year course), studying a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics degree and have an interest in pursuing a career in Investment, Technology or Data Science.

Traineeships & Apprenticeships:

Suited to school leavers, these programmes are designed to build your career in investment management whatever your academic background. The focus is on practical training and support, as well as a real job from day one.

12 month Traineeships

A yearlong fixed-term contract for school leavers. The traineeship delivers valuable training and practical, paid work experience. The programme combines formal training from experts inside Schroders and from across the industry. There are opportunities and support to gain formal qualifications and lots of chances to build lasting professional relationships.

This is a permanent, salaried position offering an entry-level role at Schroders for school leavers. There are apprenticeship opportunities in teams across our business. Each offers the chance to gain expertise and experience in a diverse range of professions, from fund management to research, marketing, finance and technology.

As well as practical work experience, the initial two years of the programme include formal training designed to build expertise and personal capabilities. All of our apprenticeships are fully accredited. Many of our apprentices build long-term careers at Schroders, but wherever their work takes them, they know their training is recognised and valued.
