Job Title: Graduate Editorial Assistant (Commissioning) Job Location: Work from home, reporting into London office twice a week Job Salary: £22K Our client is an established online, open-access publisher of two peer reviewed digital publications, addressing key scientific, regulatory, business and manufacturing challenges and advances through publication of articles, infographics, videos, podcasts and an extensive webinar programme Job Description The Graduate Editorial Assistant will be involved directly with the developing and managing of content for publications and acting as the primary contact for authors across the publication process. Working with the Editors, you will have the opportunity to generate fresh ideas and liaise with leading experts in the field. The successful candidate should have an excellent eye for detail and great time-management skills. The goal is to ensure all our online content is produced to deadline, to high visual standard, whilst maintaining scientific accuracy and clarity. Key responsibilities will include: Writing and Editing: Creating written articles from audio interviews, roundtables and webinars Content Development: Research latest developments to familiarise yourself with hot topics, key institutions and author prospects. Identify potential topics and associated authors for added-value content to be published in our journals including Editorials, Conference Insights and Interviews. Peer Review Management: Securing suitable independent peer reviewers for each article submitted to the journal, responding to queries and advising the commissioning editor on the peer-review outcome. Marketing & Social Media: Involvement in the implementation of marketing strategy including creating copy for email marketing campaigns. Essential skills and experience: BSc in bioscience subject or similar Previous editorial experience is beneficial but not essential as full training on all aspects of the role will be provided to the successful candidate. The successful candidate should have an excellent eye for detail and great time-management skills.
