The British Library is much more than a library and we have roles across a huge range of disciplines. We have big ambitions and we're looking for people with a range of skills to help us achieve our goals.
At The British Library, we want to make intellectual heritage accessible for everyone. As our 50th anniversary is fast approaching, we have created a strategic plan to define our ambitions and goals for the time that we reach this milestone in 2023. This plan is called Living Knowledge.
Living Knowledge is split into six main purposes: custodianship, research, business, culture learning and international. Each of these purposes work together to help actualise the vision of The British Library being one of the leading institutions of its kind.
Custodianship - we build, curate and preserve the UK's national collection of published, written and digital content.
Research - we support and stimulate research of all kinds.
Business - we help businesses to innovate and grow.
Culture - we engage everyone with memorable cultural experiences.
Learning - we inspire young people and learners of all ages.
International - we work with partners around the world to advance knowledge and understanding.
