GRADUATE CIVIL METHODS INSTALLATION ENGINEERS – PERMANENT – SURREY If you have any friends or colleagues who could be interested, please pass the information on Our Client will only accept applicants with a permanent right to work in the UK. Our Client, a Major offshore international Oil and Gas, design and construction contractor is currently seeking high calibre graduates to join their September 2024 Graduate intake as Trainee Civil Methods (Installation) Engineers in the offshore sector. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Recent graduates with a 2.1 or above degree in a relevant engineering discipline - Civil Engineering, Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering considered at present. Preferably some work experience in the offshore / civil / structural / naval industries. Some relevant work experience if you graduated in 2022 or 2023. An interest in a mix of office, site, and offshore work locations. An understanding of engineering projects. Good interpersonal skills. A willingness to travel. An understanding of Offshore Oil and Gas projects is an advantage. RESPONSIBILITIES: As an Offshore Installation Engineer, you will: Provide installation support and engineering design services in the office for projects being executed within the company. Provide on-site Installation engineering support and be our representative for installation preparations on site for the relevant projects. Support the offshore execution phase of installation projects. Assist in the development of procedures, bids, and studies for installation work within the company. SCOPE OF WORK: Our Client is one of the largest turnkey Engineering & Construction contractors in the Oil and Gas sector with a proven track-record over many years, and increasingly growing within the Renewable Energy Sector as well. With a strong bias towards remote areas and challenging deep-water locations, it is a leader in the supply of engineering, procurement, project management and construction services, with distinctive capabilities in the design and execution of large-scale offshore and onshore projects. This organisation operates a prestigious fleet of vessels for offshore construction in shallow and deep water. These include Heavy lift vessels & large transportation barges for installing/removing topsides, jackets, and large Windfarm components, Pipelay vessels for installation of rigid / flexible pipelines, umbilical’s & cables, construction vessels for subsea trenching & subsea structures installation. Our Client is actively expanding their capability in engineering and construction within the renewables sector (offshore wind farms). They are currently looking for high calibre graduates, either Fresh Graduates or ideally with some work experience, with a degree qualification in engineering (e.g. civil/structural, naval architecture. You will join a bespoke training scheme for Offshore Installation Engineers that includes office, site and offshore installation training and experience on-board a variety of key offshore construction vessels. The course is tailored to provide training within the office to cover the expected engineering and project expectations complemented with specific training courses at our fabrication sites and tailored courses with specialist training providers. Our Client encourages and supports all engineers in their professional development to achieve Chartered Engineer status. Training and development will be provided to build a range of technical and professional engineering skills, which are necessary to work in our multi-disciplinary project-based organisation covering a range of work locations. Whilst the role will predominantly be London based, some flexibility will be needed to undertake work in other offices and offshore sites at appropriate times. Our Client requires candidates for this course, which will take circa Nine months to complete whereby the candidates will be ready to fulfil the Installation Engineer role described below. The course is due to begin in September this year. Methods Engineering generally involves performing structural, installation/construction and designing/defining all installation aids. Installing offshore pipelines and subsea items including specific ancillaries in agreement and liaising with the drafting department, lead methods and vessel operations. SALARY & BENEFITS These are Permanent Staff positions and joining a major organisation would have many large company benefits. As well as this, the further training would be second to none in the industry salaries offered would be dependent on qualifications obtained. For a fresh graduate the starting salary is good with higher salaries for those with a Masters and with also further enhanced for those with a PhD . Graduates who have had some experience either in the oil and gas industry or other industries there would be a level of increase in the basic starting salary. Please also note that candidates must be available for interview from January – they are hoping to start the scheme in April. The Client’sOffice are very close to the Station.
