Financial services cover a myriad of roles that are concerned with all things money-related. It can be a very lucrative career and is crucial to our businesses.

Many people are drawn to this industry because of the high rates of pay and the clear career path, which means you can progress quickly if you’re willing to put in the work. This’ll often mean long hours and a commitment to learning alongside your work to pass professional exams in your field, but the payoffs can be huge.

What Financial services work experience do you need?
There is usually no need for formal work experience for a career in financial services. If you’re studying at university and plan on going for a job in one of the biggest industries there will be some strong competition, so you may want to source a summer internship at a firm to give you an edge when applying after you graduate.

For those who are looking to enter the financial services after leaving school, many apprenticeships will not ask for professional experience but you must be able to demonstrate that you’re strong with numbers.
